”1-2-3 FAMILY!”

Yup, says it all at the end.

You know, the Friday Night Lights movie was dramatized way over the top; I actually attended game in Austin in 1988. But I believe this game surpassed that movie for drama and excitement … and it was totally real! Applause Gig 'em

Not sure who the ultimate shot caller is on these programs from a directorial standpoint, but they are extremely well done. Great access to the coaches' thought processes and comments, giving a true "behind the curtain" look at the program.

Jimbo is so impressive that even the casual football fan is noticing. The Beautiful Mrs. Goodson noted after the most recent program: "That guy is inspiring. I think we finally have the right coach to take us where we want to go."

I'm ready to play for him after that post game. However I don't think I'd even make a good waterboy.

In the pregame speech, when he picked up the helmet, that gave me chills.

Then the postgame speech choked me up.

AF, you have No Right to take away my JOY.

If you are going to split with a team this year, Clempsum was the team to lose to first.

If we run the table, we will hoist the glass trophy.

Dare to tell me I am incorrect... Shame on you Speak to the hand

Dad:

Fanatic was actually having some fun with folks from another thread where the admonition was to "tap the brakes" on getting too excited/optimistic/insert your own descriptor here ... based on what we've seen thus far from the Jimbo-led Fightin' Texas Aggies.

Truth be told, my bet is he, myself and a whole host of others join with you in turning a deaf ear to such "admonitions" -- whether well intended or simply the result of BAS.

Agalyst:

I know Dad loves to use sarcasm in his humor from time to time. But he typically doesn't use the finger wag and stop emoticons lightly.

That's why I weighed in.

Whistle

Then again, it wouldn't be the first time I was tone deaf regarding another poster's intent or intended inference.

Laughing

And lest there be any confusion, I consider Dad one of my BEST friends on this board.

Goody, you like Cotton and still under the influence of the Good Stuff?

I wuz messin' with old AF. Agalyst, you are good.

A) I know that "tap the brakes" was not meant for the football team. They should ignore and go balls forward.

B) I know why people say that on boards. It's not the first time a lot of us has let wishing, seeing something not as significant as we want to see make us believe we are 1) turning a corner, 2) figuring things out, 3) a lot of other positives.

C) However, I don't believe anyone was talking national title this year. Everything else is game at this juncture: 2 games in, took #2 to the limit, etc.

D) We are fans. I prefer we stay optimistically realistic because I don't want a troll taking ridiculous talk and quoting elsewhere.

But always look for Joy. Life without Joy causes people to do bad things.

AF, don't steal my Joy! Wink Laughing Big Grin
