Probably talked into it by an agent wanna-be looking to pick up a little pocket change if he can get lucky with a team looking to have some American presence on a European squad...

Too bad...he could have made another year at A&M into a most likely win-win for both himself and an Aggie team--regardless of how good we will ultimately be--just an opportunity lost all around...

Still hope Davis and Gilder decide to return for one more year... Pray

Bad decision. Just bad. Hogg doesn't have a polished, formidable game for NCAA ball; so, what makes him think that he can cut it in pro ball?... much less the NBA?

Bad Decision IMO. Rolling Eyes

Hogg was one "strike" / cup test from being kicked off the team.

This wasn't a surprise. He can go to Europe and get a clean slate, enjoy breaks over in Amsterdam, and work on his craft.

I think he would have been better served to return -- IF he was willing to do the things necessary to stay on the straight and narrow and work on improving his craft. That is, if he wanted to be drafted in the NBA.

But since there are only two rounds to the draft, and given his inability or unwillingness when it comes to certain expected conduct, it was probably time for him to move on.

Hello European ball ... or NBA Development League.

If Jalen, Danuel and Alex have had to toil through that league to get a few cups of coffee at the NBA level .... you can bet that Hogg will as well.

I'd take any of those three over Hogg at similar points in their careers.

Perhaps the writing was on the wall for Hogg. Good luck to him in his future career.

That is quite likely, now that I think about it.

It very much was - one more disciplinary issue of any kind, and he'd be kicked off.

My guess is that this was probably a good decision FOR HIM.

I'm willing to watch this play out before judging. (Big of me, huh?)

Not a good decision:

Doesn't get to make it right for teammates who depended on him only to be let down due to multiple suspensions last year.

Doesn't get to demonstrate to a future employer that he can put team over self interests.

Doesn't get to further refine his skills to make himself an even more attractive draft prospect next year.

"life" starts at some point for all of us. Foregoing the opportunity to complete a college degree simply thrusts one into that a year earlier. It's easy for us old codgers to say ... but who of us wouldn't want to enjoy another year of the life of a college student-athlete before moving on to "what's next ... what's there from now on?"

Good decision:

If he's not committed to staying on the straight and narrow, he would be looking at more suspensions that could result in his dismissal from the team.

Perhaps when he's "paying for pay" that he will demonstrate more responsibility and accountability.

Good luck to him. His sporadic offensive production coupled with his lack of desire to play intense defense does not seem like a recipe for NBA success.
