I would like to start a thread for what is right in the world rather than always focusing on what is wrong.

Here is a start:

"There is no denying that the arc is truly exceptional in the unbroken streak of declining crime,” said William J. Bratton, who retired from his second stint as police commissioner last year.

And yes, many conservatives need to rethink their criticisms of de Blasio. Not saying that his way is 100% correct, but there are things to emulate.

While I am no fan of our President I do see some hope for 2018 If we can just reduce the party partisanship

I am hoping to see our representatives vote for appropriations bills when they agree with the items being included, even though they don't include everything they want. Only then can we hope to get our debt under control. This extortion to force items into appropriations bills when they don't have the support of the majority must stop. That includes the proposed south border wall, if the required majority doesn't support it.

Trump is holding an agreement on DACA hostage to his getting $18 billion in border wall funding that he promised Mexico would pay for and not the taxpayer.

Keith,

The issue of the border wall is an appropriations matter; DACA isn't an appropriations matter. That isn't an example of the type of hostage-holding I addressed.

With respect to whether a border wall should be funded, I tend to agree with you that other appropriations should not be held hostage to get that funding. However, what other means of border security that would be at least as effective as the wall are Democrats offering?

Increased funding for border patrol and court resources would be a much better and more efficient means of enhancing border security than the boondoggle wall that Trump is preoccupied with.

Besides, we weren't supposed to need to budget for the wall, remember?

Valid. However, it is worth noting that even in this, something the real facts allow him to take credit for, Trump still could not be honest with the American people. He tweeted that the prior administration tried and failed to get the release of these men. But two of three were taken just last year, while Trump was President. The prior administration could not have tried to secure their release.

It's another sad case of this President preferring lies even when the truth would have worked just fine.

It is safe to say that no matter what he does which has been very impressive lately, you will hate him and give him no credit.

So in essence your opinion is completely invalid due to uncompromising bias.

What was the first word of my post you criticizing? Much of the problem I referred to is because so many just don't care about the ridiculous and often completely senseless to the American people.

Honestly, why don't you care about that? Why don't you hold him accountable?

Trump is truly awful person, but he is getting stuff done in something that resembles a Republican platform. I suppose I'll hold him as accountable as the press held Bubba and Barry accountable.

I wouldn't say Trump is an awful person. I do dislike much about his manner. I hope what he does politically says more about him personally than much of what he says.

Honest question - what has he done politically that has shaped your view of him personally? And what is that view?

Best President since GHW Bush. Respects the Constitution. Understands what are the first responsibilities of the Federal government. Respects the true values of the Country, contrary to the values of the left and right coasts.

Respects the Constitution? LOL.

Proposes government action against 1st Amendment rights to include McCarthyesque Congressional investigations of what he deems "fake news." Yet he regularly lies. Demands liberalization of Constitutional limits on defamation, but regularly uses his office as a platform to defame others. Threatens to alter the tax code to attack Constitutionally protected speech.

Regularly attacks the judiciary.

Pardons a man convicted for infringing the Constitutional rights of American citizens.

Attacks the legitimacy of our elections with false claims of mass election fraud.

The delusions of the Trumper Personality Cult are never ending.

Keith,

Nice job of cherry picking to find a short list. I believe most posters and readers are aware of a number of other issues where Trump has shown more respect for the Constitution than Democrats.

Speaking one's mind is not anti-first amendment. Presidents have the rights of the first amendment too.

I provided quite a few "cherries," and some big ones. Some that undermine the fundamentals of our democracy. Important institutions for this nation are under attack, from the President of the United States.
